If you weren’t at
Show Me Weaving 2009, you missed a Great convention!
(Windows Media Player)
We
had a wonderful and relaxing weaving weekend at the 2009 convention
with about 150 students, teachers, vendors, and volunteers in
attendance.
We had 125 student attendees, with 31 of those
being First Timers. There was 19 visitors who signed-in, including a couple of young middle-school
aged girls who belong to 4-H and weave baskets.
Our weaving choices for the weekend consisted of 56 baskets offered by
20 teachers. We shopped with 8 vendors and on Friday evening,
with 19 Market Place participants.
We
had truly exquisite exhibit baskets – 7 entries in the
Teacher category and 23 entries in the Hobbyist category, with the
winners being:

And
a special thank you to Betty Cockburn who displayed about 100 of her
Asian Bamboo Thread Animal Baskets. We were all in awe of the
work in those baskets.
We
were able to display the 26 Swap Baskets this year too, and we had so
many beautiful baskets that could have also been entered in the cash
prize exhibit. All who participated in the Swap met a new
friend and now have a treasured basket at home!

Thank
you so much to all who donated any items to the convention.
Our Welcome bags were well received because of all the good stuff
inside! Our raffle was huge success. And, our
volunteer raffle had 4 tables full of items.
And thank you again to all
who attended and all who volunteered to make this another successful
convention! MBG runs the convention FOR YOU and only WITH
YOUR HELP, and we appreciate it so much! We hope to see
everyone at “MO Weaving Madness” in St. Louis
August 5-8, 2010!
Until then,
